Comic Shop Assistant is a web-based point of sale created to help comic stores manage their subscribers, place better orders, and hopefully work a little less hard while doing it.

Helping you to manage your comic store every day.

Comic Shop Assistant was built to solve a handful of difficulties our store was presented with that are specific to the comic book industry. From multiple distributor ordering to customer subscription management, Comic Shop Assistant has saved us hundreds of hours since we started using it in 2021.

Easier comic ordering

Ordering made easier

Ordering takes all the brains in the world to do well. Comic Shop Assistant makes it easy to see order and sell-through history of a product. It also makes smart suggestions for your order quantities based on settings you define. And with our automated ratio variant calculations, you can decide how much or how little to mark up those hard-to-get issues based on your preferred margins.

Back issues

It’s hard to track back issue purchases and to prioritize which issues to price up for your customers. Our back issue module makes it easy to track collections within your warehouse. Combine that with your customer’s want list, and you can fill their needs quicker than ever before. It’s designed to allow even brand new staff members to track your collections, so very little training is needed. This module stands alone, and does not require our POS. But if you DO have our POS and the back issue management tool, you’ll get a lot of money-making integration.

Comic book subscriber pull management

Pulled inventory

Comic and game stores “set things aside” for folks more than most retail businesses. Comic Shop Assistant makes it easy to manage and track your inventory, even when it’s behind the counter or in someone’s file. Transferring a product from the shelf to a customer pull is as easy as scanning the item’s barcode or searching for it. When you ring them up, it’s automatically tracked that they purchased the item. You can remove an item from a customer’s file and unsubscribe them in one click. And you can track whether it’s an item they requested and then rejected, or if it’s just a comic you offered them and they weren’t interested in.

Transactions

Transactions include some streamlining that is specific to comic stores. Your customer’s bag and board settings automate adding (or not adding) supplies to their purchase. The system keeps an eye out for duplicate purchases, and you can subscribe or un-subscribe to a series right there within the transaction.

extra features

More than just POS

We use this daily in our hybrid comic/game store, and in order to make it work perfectly for us, we had to include a ton of cool extra features that other shops can also use.
